HISTORY

The SSG Solnhofen Stone Group is one of the leading natural stone manufacturers in Germany and positions itself as the quality market leader in this sector. 

Originally, it was an association of renowned companies, but SSG is now a company of Solnhofer Portland-Zementwerke GmbH & Co. KG and part of the Solnhofer group of companies. SSG's natural stones, namely MAXBERG® Jura Limestone and SOLNHOFENER Natural Stone, are in demand worldwide and are used in numerous famous structures. With over 150 years of experience, state-of-the-art technical expertise, and a specialised workforce, we have the capability to bring nearly any natural stone concept to life for our customers.

PHILOSOPHY

Whether in Berlin, London, or Dubai, the SSG Solnhofen Stone Group has an active global presence. In the quarrying regions of Bavarian Altmühltal, we maintain four state-of-the-art production facilities and a large number of our own quarries that follow the strictest ecological standards, focusing on the sustainable use of natural resources. As co-founders of the Environmental Pact, we are also dedicated to eco-friendly stone quarrying and wildlife preservation in this region.
